So today we learned that the little town we were staying is not pronounced “hurricane”but “Hurricun.” Who knew.

It was a pretty chill day. The boys got up and went fishing for a while after breakfast. Sam and I stuck around the campground and had our weekly call with J.

So by the time we really got moving, it was mid afternoon and had reached the mid 90s. We opted for a short little half mile hike to a little slot canyon, Jenny’s Slot Canyon in Snow Canyon, in St. George, UT. Holy cow it was hot! The sand was so hot on Patty’s feet, that the guys had to take turns carrying Patty because the sand was too hot for her toes. But as soon as we turned the corner and went into the slot canyon it was immediately cooler and shaded. It was a cool little place to go, but way too hot to hit any of the other trails. So we just finished driving around Snow Canyon in the air-conditioning and went back to the campground…after stopping for frozen yogurt.

We spent the rest of the afternoon playing little campground games and playing cards. We are resting up for our big day tomorrow at Zion. It’s not supposed to be quite as hot tomorrow. But we’re still planning things that involve water!

What We're Eating:
Breakfast: More breakfast scramble with hashbrowns, sausage, red bell peppers, kale, and eggs
Lunch: Sandwiches, grapes, and cookies
Dinner: Sausage and green beans over mashed potatoes
Temperatures:
Hot! I think it was in the mid 70s or so when we got up this morning but with not a cloud in the sky, it quickly climbed to 100. It’s been super windy all day so we had to take our shade awning down before it blew away.
